The Pretzel Tree Trail is located at Squak Mountain State Park – a perfect trail for little ones. This short loop (just about .4 mile total from parking lot) has beautiful mossy trees, story boards, and is close to home. This is perfect for an afternoon adventure! I have a 7 year old, and even though the hike is short, he did enjoy reading the story along the trail.
If you have kids that are a little older, you can then follow signs to one of the longer hikes (like Central Peak Trail).
To get there:
- Take Exit 15 (WA 900) and head south for 4 miles.
- Turn left at SE May Valley Rd (at traffic light) for 2.5 miles.
- Squak Mountain State Park will be on the left.
- You will need a Discover Pass (or pay a $10 fee).
Also check out the Swamp Monster Trail, another perfect hike for kids. Get outside and connect with nature today!
