Seattle Race for the Cure

Yesterday was the Susan G. Komen Puget Sound Race for the Cure 5K Run/Walk.  It’s nice to see 1000’s of people coming together to support the fight for breast cancer!  I should have gotten photos of the crazy pink crowd. It was quite amazing!  These photos above were taken before the race and at the finish line.  You can check out more photos from others on tagboard at #SEAKomenRace.

Quick Stats:

  • 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime (in the U.S.). Get the facts here.
  • Getting 30-60 minutes of moderate to high intensity levels of physical activity per day is associated with a reduction in breast cancer risk.  Get the facts here.

I just went and got my first mammogram last Thursday (since I’m now the big 4-0). I have to say, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I will find out results this week.

Happy Monday! Have an active and healthy day!!
