This is a great family hike…if you do it during the week. I haven’t done a mid-afternoon Saturday hike forever, and now I remember why! It changes the whole experience. You aren’t able to have that strong connection with nature that you would normally get if there were a few 100 less people.
Anyway, the positives are that it’s a great hike for kids (probably ages 5 and up), because it’s only about 2.6 miles roundtrip. If the kids are too little, you are going to be carrying them – we saw plenty of that! The Snoqualmie river is right at the start to throw rocks in (or save it for the end like we did).
There are some old growth trees, moss covered trunks,
and nursing logs that are pretty impressive also.
The falls drop 150 feet…
Hike up a bit further to the bridge to see the “twin” falls…
then look over the edge (my phone did, not me).
To get there, just take Exit 34 off I-90 (past the North Bend outlets), turn right and follow the signs.
Note: You’ll need your Discover pass.
