Your hamstrings are the “biceps” of your legs. Their function is to bend the knee.
*Take your time when stretching them out and do it right!
When stretching the back of your right leg, keep length through both sides of your waist by actively pushing your right hip down away from your head. You don’t want your right hip to be bunched up by your ribcage (keep your hips neutral).
If it’s too hard to hold on to the back of your leg, use a strap for assistance.
Keep the leg as straight as you can, focusing on the length of the leg. Hold the stretch for at least 30 seconds before switching sides.
