There is a race out there that is perfect for you to try THIS year. There are so many events to choose from for all fitness levels and for all ages.
It’s a great way to hang out with friends, raise money for charity, meet new people, act silly (or not), and get healthy.
Keep in mind…
Here’s a few fun and crazy races to check out below (the first 5 have multiple locations):
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 1 mile walk, 5K walk/run
Hot Chocolate 15K/5K America’s Sweetest Race™.
5K Foam Fest Foam, Mud, Obstacles, 5K Fun Run – Fun!
5K Obstacle Course Zombie Race Run for your lives!
The Color Run A 5K of color running madness!
Orcas 25K/50K Trail run 15.5 miles or 31 miles in one of the most beautiful places on earth. (Fun is not the first word that comes to mind here though.)
Group Health Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic STP – 200 miles
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Big Climb 69 flights of stairs and 1311 steps. (Hint: If a race is sold out, try active.com)
TriFreaks Rainman Indoor Triathlon Swim 15 minutes, Bike 30 minutes, Run 1.5-3 miles
Ski to Sea A team consists of 8 racers (2 in the canoe leg) for the seven race legs (Cross Country Ski; Downhill Ski/Snowboard; Running; Road Bike; Canoe; Mountain Bike; Kayak). A racer can only be on one team, and only complete one leg.
Still not sure?
Go to Running in the USA for fun ideas in your area. They post all formats of races here – not just running.
Always check out Active.com. Again, if a race says sold out on their site, you may be able to get registered here instead (that’s how I got to do the color run last year).
