Stroller Fitness, Start Today!

You have 5 weeks until Summer.  It is now time to focus on yourself and get healthy.  You can get fit while raising your kiddos.  It does take some effort, but you are worth it!

Pack stuff to keep your little one busy, bring your water, and hit the road!

*If you are just starting out, you decide how far you can go.  Remember, your body benefits from just one minute of exercise!  For heart health, you should get in 150 minutes weekly.  Break it up through the week however you like.  A good starting goal is 30 minutes, 5 times per week.

Warm up at a slower pace and lower intensity for 5-10 minutes.  Pick up the pace for 20 minutes, then ease off again for a 5-minute cool down.  End with a few basic stretches.

Take different routes with different terrain to break the monotony and to keep your muscles guessing.

If you are already doing this, then great!  You might want to start thinking about incorporating some muscles strengthening exercises.

Walking Lunges

Curtsy Lunge

Curtsy Lunge: Cross leg behind and push your hip back.

You can stop and add these exercises at any point during your workout.

Need upper body too?  Click on these exercises.  Make sure you lock the stroller, have your child  facing you, and bust out some “Twinkle, Twinkle” tune!

  1. Yes! Great post I love walking lunges with my jogging stroller! Going up hill I also use the stroller as a press push out, pull in, push out, pull in. These are becoming harder and harder as my kiddos get bigger.

    • Yes!!! When I was driving yesterday, I wanted to stop and take a picture of this dad doing walking lunges with his son in a jogger! There was no place for me to stop my car though. Dad’s can do this too! Thanks for reminding me. 🙂
